IP44 Socket Producting Process

Pubdate: September 18th 2025    Preview: 0

I. Core Features of IP44 Socket
Protection Rating Analysis
IP44: The first digit “4” indicates protection against solid foreign objects ≥1 mm (such as tools and wire debris), while the second digit “4” indicates protection against splashing water (no harmful effects from splashing water from any direction).
Applicable Environments: Kitchens, bathrooms, garages, and outdoors, among other humid or dusty environments, to prevent moisture and dust from causing short circuits or electric shock.
Structural Design Features of IP44 socket:
Sealed Structure: The shell seams utilize a labyrinthine design or additional sealing rings to prevent water and dust infiltration.
Protective Cover Design: The sockets are equipped with either individual dust covers or integrated flip-up covers that automatically close when not in use.
High Insulation Material: The shell is made of flame-retardant PC+ABS alloy (V0 grade), and the internal current-carrying components are phosphor bronze (corrosion-resistant and highly conductive).
Safety Door: Two or three sockets must be inserted simultaneously to open, preventing accidental child access.
Enhanced Electrical Performance:
Grounding Guarantee: Three-pole jacks come standard with a ground terminal, and metal-cased models feature an additional reinforced ground connection. Wide Voltage Compatibility: Supports 100V-250V, and some models include an integrated USB module (5V/2.4A fast charging).
II. IP44 Socket Producting Process
1. Precision Molds and Injection Molding
Mold Processing: CNC precision-machines the housing mold, focusing on optimizing the sealing groove structure at the joints.
Two-Color Injection Molding: Select products utilize a two-color injection molding process, integrating a soft plastic (TPE) seal with the hard shell for enhanced waterproofing.
Flame Retardant Treatment: Flame retardants (such as bromine compounds) are added to the raw materials, and the molded product passes the UL94 V0 flame retardancy test.
2. Internal Component Manufacturing
Socket Stamping: Phosphor bronze strips are continuously stamped, and the socket springs are heat-treated to enhance elasticity (lifespan ≥ 5000 plug-in/plug-out cycles). Welding Process: Copper strip connections are laser welded or high-frequency brazing to reduce resistance and avoid heat generation.
Waterproofing: The PCB is coated with conformal coating (moisture-proof, mildew-proof, and salt spray-proof), and the USB module is potted with silicone for waterproofing.
3. Assembly and Sealing of IP44 socket
Sealing Ring Installation: The silicone/EPDM sealing ring is pre-greased and inserted into the housing slot. Pressure testing is performed to ensure a compression ratio of ≥30%.
Screw Attachment: Tighten with a torque screwdriver to prevent the sealing ring from collapsing or loosening.
Cable Protection: The power cord inlet is equipped with a strain relief sleeve and waterproof lock, and has been flex-tested for ≥5000 cycles without damage.
